Unfortunately for many in New England, the change of seasons can cause depression called seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Seasonal affective disorder is common during the fall and winter months, and many attribute this depression to the lack of sunlight. Symptoms of SAD include many similar to depression including anxiety, hopelessness, lack of energy, difficulty sleeping, diminished appetite, weight loss, and more. If left untreated, SAD can be tough on a person’s health, especially as they remove themselves from their loved ones and are left alone more than before.
